Why should I work with a recruiter in the first place?
Executive recruiters are specialists in assisting you in finding opportunities that are often not advertised, or are advertised in quite a limited fashion.
A good recruiter will do all of the following:
- Speak with you extensively about the opportunity before your information is even sent to a potential employer.
Why? Because it's important that you are right for the job, will be happy once you get there, are qualified, etc. It is equally important to go in knowing something about the people and the culture to give you the best chance at landing the job, and determining whether you'd be happy in your new position or not.
- Check your references
In order to let your future employer know exactly what you've been capable of in the past straight from a third party that you've worked with in the past. This is much more credible than anything you (or we as recruiters, for that matter) can say to them. Employers often skip this step, and it's too bad. It works in your favor when past colleagues, supervisors, and staff speak highly of you.
-
Negotiate better salary and compensation packages on your behalf.
This allows you to concentrate on:
- the components of the opportunity itself
- the chemistry between the employer and you
- whether you think you'll enjoy the job and be successful, etc. while we assist in negotiating the money and other compensation.
We are professionals that do this every day, just as you are a professional in your field. It is often difficult to negotiate on your own behalf since you're always so close to the situation. Generally, candidates that work with recruiters have much better compensation packages than those who chose not to work with a recruiter.
- Thoroughly prepare you before the interview.
It is important that you know as much as possible about the expectations of the potential employer, as well as information such as the environment in which you'll be working, management style and corporate /company / facility culture before you interview in order to present well and assist in your decision making process.
- Why Health Recruitment Specialists specifically?
Because we have consistently produced results for our clients for over a decade, they expect us to keep delivering qualified candidates. They hold our feet to the fire, so to speak, which means that you don't get "strung along" wondering what the status of your opportunity is, when or if you'll be interviewed, etc.
As a trusted partner for 17 years, we also know our clients, personally and professionally. We can often tell you a great deal about the environment in which you'll be working, not only from our own personal experience with key players, but from feedback from other candidates. We have often worked with management and key staff within healthcare organizations for years and we can tell you about management style and expectations before you ever hit the door. This is important if you are going to adequately ascertain if a job is right for you or not, to eliminate wasted time on fruitless interviews.
